FARETTOの持続可能性

Microplastics have been found in human blood, heart, lungs, and breast milk.

マイクロプラスチックは、人間の血液から見つかっていました

In a study published in 2022, a Dutch research team detected microplastics in the blood of anonymously collected subjects. Five types of microplastics were found in the blood of about three-quarters of the participants.

Microplastics have also been found in the heart

According to a study published in July 2023 in Environmental Science & Technology, nine types of microplastics were found in five tissues of 15 patients undergoing heart surgery. The maximum size of the microplastic was 0.469 mm.

内臓・母乳・精液などからも見つかっていました

It was announced that it was found in breast milk in 2022, and in semen and testicles in March 2023.

Researchers analyzed multiple risk factors.

Breast milk was compared from mothers who ate seafood, mothers who consumed food and drinks packaged in plastic, and mothers who used body care products packaged in plastic containers in the week before the test.

However, there was no change in the amount of microplastics detected in each of these categories.

“Microplastics are widespread in the environment;

This suggests that contact with plastic is unavoidable, not only through food and drink, but also through the skin and through breathing. ”

Microplastics in the world's tap water

The University of Minnesota and other researchers at the University of Minnesota have discovered that tap water in 13 countries around the world, as well as table salt from Europe, America and Asia, and beer from the United States contain a wide range of tiny "microplastics," which have become a global pollution problem. A research group found out by the 2nd. The detection rate in tap water was as high as 81%, and most of it is fibrous and appears to be derived from textile products. Japan's tap water has not been investigated.

Although the impact of microplastics on human health is unknown, the research group warns that ``the unavoidable contamination of tap water in daily life is spreading around the world, which is a cause for great concern.''

Microplastics detected in human feces

A survey of adults from eight countries, including Japan, confirmed that microplastics remained in all of them.

This result was found in a pilot study conducted jointly by the Austrian Federal Environment Agency and the Medical University of Vienna.

Although the scale of this study was small as it was a pilot study with limited samples, this is the first study to confirm that the human body ingests microplastics.
